| Abstract: | The structure of the novel diketosesquiterpenoid 4, isolated from the soft coral Sinularia intacta, is elucidated as 8,9- secoafricanane-8,9-dione by spectral data [1H, 13C NMR, DEPT, 2D (1H-1H, 13C-1H COSY & NOESY) NMR and mass] and its conversion to dioxime 5 and monobenzylidene 6 derivatives. |
