| Abstract: | The phenylhydrazones 2-4 and oximes 8 of acetophenone and substituted acetophenones react with 2,4-bis( 4-methoxyphenyl)- 1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulphide 1 to give Δ5-1,2,3- diazaphospholins 5-7 and Δ5-1,2,3-azaoxaphospholins 9. The reaction has been attempted using a phase transfer catalyst (PTC) hexadecyl(tributyl)phosphonium bromide. The structures of the compounds are confirmed by physical and spectral data. |
