| Abstract: | 2,5-Dimethyl-9-hydroxy-4-(propen-2-yl)-dihydrofuro[3,2-g][1]benzopyran-7[H]-one 4 has been prepared from 7,8-dihydroxy-4-methyl coumarin 1 by allylation, Claisen rearrangement and cyclisation, while benzofuro[3,2-g]-11-hydroxy-4-methylbenzopyran2[H]-one 9 has been prepared from 1 by condensing it with 2-bromocyc1ohexanone followed by cyc1isation and dehydrogenation. |
