| Abstract: | Reactions of 1,4-benzoquinone with three alkylenediamines have been carried out in an attempt to synthesise pyrazine type compounds. However, reaction with ethylenediamine leads to tetraamino-benzoquinone, 1 whereas those with propylenediamine and butylenediamine furnish compounds 2 and 3 respectively along with other uncharacterized compounds. |
