| Abstract: | Various 4-aryl-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-benzopyrano[4, 3-d] pyrimidine- 2, 5-diones 3a-1 and 4-aryl-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydrobenzopyrano [4, 3-d] pyrimidine-2-thioxo-5-ones 3m-x have been synthesised by reacting 4-hydroxycoumarins 1a-c with aromatic aldehydes 2a-d in the presence of urea/thiourea under Biginelli reaction conditions. |
