| Abstract: | On treatment with NaN3/TFA, some E-3-benzylideneflavanones yield 3-benwylchromones with the loss of 2-aryl group as the corresponding aniline, a plausible mechanistic path for which has been delineated. An acid-catalysed skeletal rearrangement of some E-3-benzylideneflavanones also takes place. |
