| Abstract: | A new synthetic route with N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) and pyridine as oxidation system to dehydrogenate symmetric hydrazo compounds for preparing azo compounds is reported for the first time. Eight azo compounds are prepared in good yields under mild conditions and possible mechanism has been suggested. |
