The Diels-Alder reactions of 4,6-disubstituted pyran-2(H)-ones with naphthoquinone and N-phenylmaleimide have been carried out very efficiently under Dry State Adsorption Conditions by adsorbing the reactants on the clays namely, montmorillonite K10, engehard filtrol-24 and pyrophyllite at much lower temperatures as compared to the conventional methods.  en_US
