| Abstract: | The synthesis of 3',4'- dimethoxy - 7 - hydroxy-6 - acetyl flavone 5 and 4' - methoxy - 7 - hydroxy - 6- acetyl flavone 9 is reported from 5 - acetyl - 2,4 - dihydroxy acetophenone 1 using aroylation, Baker - Venkatraman rearrangement, cyclization and deacetylation reactions successively. |
