| Abstract: | The present study aims at understanding the dynamics of atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) for a coastal, near equatorial station Thumba (8.5°N, 76.9°E), India, using data from Doppler sodar, tethersonde and tower-based micrometeorological instruments, with particular emphasis to the sensitivity of ABL to mesoscale events as the low level jet (LLJ). Various physical processes taking place during such events have been examined with reference to the coupled energy exchange that occurs between ABL and the free atmosphere and at the sea-land-air interface. |
