| dc.description.abstract | The field observation has been done for correlating the plant biomass with microwave frequency at X-band (9.5 GHz) using indigenously developed scatterometer. The biomass of the plant changes as the crop grows and its dielectric, in turn, shows a relation with emissivity. The emissivity obtained through scattering measurements was found to be correlated well with the calculated values. These parameters give a linear relationship for emissivity in regression analysis. In this analysis it has been found that the best fit angle for separating bare fields with vegetated field is around 70° (look angle) for Bengal gram. The X-band emissivity was found to increase with biomass for this broad leaf crop. | en_US |
