Imines derived from dehydroacetic acid and substituted anilines and their Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Mn(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by their elemental analysis, magnetic moments,, IR, electronic spectral, molar conductance and thermal analysis. Octahedral geometry around these metal ions have been proposed on the basis of magnetic and spectral studies. The fungicidal activities of the ligands and their metal complexes have been screened in vitro against A. niger and the % inhibition is found to be in the order Cu > Ni > Mn > Co.en_US
