Tetracoordinated organotellurium(II) compounds with 12-14-membered pendant armed tetraazamacrocyclic ligands: A photoelectron spectroscopic study

Abstract

Some tetracoordinated new organotellurium(II) compounds of the type RR¹TeL¹ and RR¹TeL² (where R=R¹= C₆H₅CH₂; R=R¹= C₆H₄; R=R¹= C₆H₅; R = R¹= <i>p</i>-MeO C₆H₄; R = <i>p</i>-Me₂NC₆H₄, R¹= <i>p</i>-MeOC₆H₄ and R=<i>p</i>-Me₂NC₆H₄, R ¹ = <i>p</i>-EtOC₆H₄) have been prepared via the template condensation of 1,2-dibromoethane or 1, 3-dibromopropane with aniline. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, PMR, IR, magnetic susceptibility measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectra. An octahedral geometry has been assigned for all these compounds.
