| Abstract: | 2-Methyl- 1 ,8-naphthyridine-3-carbazide 3 has been synthesized from ethyl 2-methyl- 1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxy late 1 following two different procedures. The azide 3 on heating with different alcohols including benzyl alcohols underwent Curtius rearrangement to furnish the title compounds 5. They have been screened for their antimicrobial activity. |
