The effect of molecular weight on the structure and properties of undrawn, high-speed spun PET yarns has been studied. At higher molecular weight, crystallization in the spinline occurs at much lower spinning speed. Infrared analysis indicates that the occurring crystallization is governed by the elongational stress developed during the spinning process.en_US
