During the manufacture of nylon 6 polymer, about 8-10% of the caprolactam and its oligomers get converted into extractibles in the chips and during the manufacture of nylon 6 fibre, about 5-12% wastes are generated in solid form. It is essential that to make the production processes economically more viable, both the extractibles and the solid waste are converted into reusable products. This paper addresses this problem and describes the recycling processes and the products obtained therefrom.en_US
