Abstract: Silk-like polyester fibres have been one of the most important targets for the textile industry in the present era. Key technologies starting from fibre engineering to finishing process have been illustrated for producing silky polyester fabrics with bulky hand touch and superior drape. Effects of polymer additives, delustrants, surfactants, etc. on alkaline hydrolysis of polyester fabrics for improving silk-like characteristics have also been highlighted.
