Nickel titanium shape memory alloy ribbons of different nickel ratio with refined grain size have been fabricated by rapidly quenched melt spinning technique. The nickel-titanium alloy buttons are produced by arc melting, before the ribbon fabrication. XRD has been used to study phase formation of the alloy buttons and ribbons. Microstructure, composition and surface topography of melt-spun ribbons are studied using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray measurements and atomic force microscopy. The phase transformation of the ribbons has been studied using resistivity measurement as a function of temperature.en_US
