| Abstract: | 1,8-Naphthyridinyl pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolines 4 synthesized by the reaction of 2-hydrazino-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,8-naphthyridine 1 with 2-chloroquinoline-3-carbaldehydes 2 followed by cyclization with DMF/KOH under microwave irradiation (MWI) and by conventional methods are described. The reaction rate is enhanced tremendously under microwave irradiation as compared to conventional method with improved yields. |
