Abstract: Heat and momentum transfer in case of steady free convection flow along a semi-infinite vertical plate, with and without suction,in presence of transverse magnetic field have been investigated. Similar solutions of the boundary layer equations, governing the flow, have been obtained and the resulting non-linear coupled differential equations with the boundary conditions have been solved numerically on computer for the two cases of the plate, namely, with and without suction. The numerical values of the functions f"(0) and θ'(0) which corresponds to local wall shear stress and surface heat transfer, are presented. The effects of the suction, magnetic field and Prandtl number on these physical parameters have been discussed.
