A theoretical analysis of the porosity and specific deposit variations has been carried out to evolve models for their prediction at any depth and time of run of a rapid gravity sand filter. The robustness of the evolved theoretical models has been tested with the experimental data. Such models shall have a vast practical application in predicting the numerous filter operation related parameters.en_US
