Abstract: A study has been carried out aiming to the improvement of the physico-mechanical properties of lime-rich clay building bricks made by firing then water curing using fine sand and ordinary portland cement. The results show that these additives can improve the properties of the fired and water cured building bricks with varied ratios. The addition of 15% fine sand to the calcareous clay fired and then water cured gives better improvement for the strength of the fired bricks with a ratio of about 77% after 90 days water curing.
