| Abstract: | One pot selective solvomercuration of dienes using mercuric acetate in dry MeOH followed by, in situ, treatment with NaCl or KI or sodium hydroxide or mercurinium intermediate at 0oC afford the olefinic mercuric chlorides, iodides and hydroxides, respectively. |
