| Abstract: | Active methylene compounds 3 react with CS2, 2-bromoethanol in the presence of K2CO3 to give two products 4 and 5 through one-pot reaction. Acylketene cyclic O,S-ethylene acetals 10 have been synthesized by the displacement of 2 with 2-mercaptoethanoi using sodium tert-butoxide as base. Configurations of the compounds 4 and 10 have been confirmed by X-ray results and 1H NMR data. The mechanism has been discussed. |
