| dc.description.abstract | A series of novel 7/9-substituted-4-(3-alkyl/aryl-5,6-dihydro-s-triazolo[3,4-b] [1,3,4] thiadiazol-6-yl)tetrazolo[1,5-a]quinolines 3 have been synthesised by the condensation of 7/9-substituted-4-formyltetrazolo[1,5-a]quinolines 1 with 5-substituted-4-amino-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazoles 2 under microwave irradiation using basic alumina as solid support or by stirring in DMF. 7/9-Substituted-4-formyltetrazolo[1,5-a]quinolines 1 are prepared from 6/8-substituted-2-chloro-3- formylquinolines by stirring in DMSO containing sodium azide, water and acetic acid. The synthesised compounds have been characterized on the basis of elemental and spectral studies and screened for their antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities. | en_US |
