| Abstract: | The arylidenes 2 containing an α,β-unsaturated ketonic function (-CH=CH- CO-) have been used as a component of Michael addition with equimolar amounts of 2-aminopyridine to give 3 in a single step. Four compounds 3b, 3d, 3j and 3I display notable herbicidal activity as compared to 2, 4-D, when tested under similar conditions. |
