| Abstract: | The history, preparation and structure of aramids in general and of Nomex and Kevlar aramid fibres in particular are discussed. The structure-property correlat ion and the application areas of these fibres are reviewed. Aramid fibres are characterized by their superior thermal properties, resistance to chemicals and out standing mechanical properties. |
