| Abstract: | The relationship between the different parameters used to express yarn hairiness by Shirley hairiness meter, Uster UT3 hairiness tester and Zweigle G565 tester has been studied. It is observed that the Shirley hairiness values (hairs> 3 mm) show very good correlation (r =0.98) with the results of Zweigle G565 tester when the same criterion is considered. Uster UT3 hairiness results show medium correlation with Zweigle S3 values. An index has been developed from Zweigle G565 results which shows good correlation (r = 0.94) with UT3 hairiness values. |
