Abstract: A quantitative analysis of the blend irregularity of air-jet textured yarns is reported. The effects of raw material and process and nozzle parameters on the blend intimacy of air-jet textured yarns in a rotational pattern have been studied for the different blends of filament yarns. It has been established that the index of blend irregularity is closely associated with the yarn tension levels at the exit of the nozzle and in the mechanical stabilizing zone. Components of dissimilar fibre characteristics result in poor blend intimacy. Texturing in wet condition improves the blend intimacy. Blend regularity is influenced by the combination of type of texturing jet and raw materials used.
