In this paper, a generalized form of Reynolds equation is derived for viscoelastic ferrofluid lubrication in the presence of a constant magnetic field applied transversely to the flow. As a particular case, one-dimensional form of it is used to study the characteristics of a squeeze film . It is observed that the effect of viscoelastic parameter is to reduce the load capacity of the bearing even in the case of magnetic fluid.en_US
