| Abstract: | The phenomenon of the existence of a transition foundation stiffness for the buckling problem of a simply supported column on Winkler foundation is well -known. It is also shown that such a phenomenon does not exist for a simply supported beam for the vibration problem. This paper presents a study of the aforementioned phenomenon with respect to a simply supported beam, subjected to an initial axial load, resting on a Winkler Foundation. |
