Abstract: Magnetoelectric phenomenon has been observed in several single phase materials in which simultaneous electric and magnetic ordering co-exists and in two phase composites in which the participating phases are the ferroelectric and ferromagnetic. Hence, composites with varying compositions of MnFe2O4 +BaTiO3 have been prepared by solid state ceramic method. The presence of two phases has been confirmed by XRD. Variations of dc resistivity and thermo emf with temperature in these samples have been studied. Variation of dielectric constant with temperature in these samples has also been studied. The conduction mechanism in these samples is explained in the light of localized model of electron hopping. The magnetoelectric effect (dEldH)H has been studied as a function of intensity of dc magnetic field. The maximum value of conversion factor has been found to be 180 µv/cm/Oe for the 50% MnFe2O4 + 50% BaTiO3 composite.
