A mixed bi-functional reactive dye has been applied to the regular viscose rayon and the new regenerated cellulosic fibre (en Vix®), prepared from cellulose acetate by the hydrolysis of acetyl groups, and their dyeing and fastness properties compared. It is observed that the en Vix® exhibits better dyeability than the regular viscose rayon as explained by the differences in the supramolecular structure of these two fibres.en_US
