Abstract: A new method of bleaching cotton yarn, which doubles the production with overall saving of 58% without sacrificing the bleached yarn quality, has been described. As no chlorine-based bleaching agent or chemical is used, the new method is environment-friendly. This method virtually obviates the need of costly effluent treatment plant and is particularly useful for the cottage industry in yarn dyeing sector.
