Abstract: The effect of mercerizing/bleaching, dyeing and finishing with different chemicals like Miraset VS (KVS), Crispotex and Spectrovinyl E on low-stress mechanical properties of cotton full voile fabric has been studied to find out the optimum finishing conditions for wet processing. It is observed that the desired hand value of the fabric can be achieved by finishing the fabric with 80 gpl KVS, 60 gpl Crispotex and 20 gpl Spectrovinyl E. Significant changes in low-stress mechanical properties are observed at each stage of wet processing. The fabric fully-finished with optimum combination of finishing chemicals gives stabilized results even after the repeated washing.
