| Abstract: | A 20 MeV Drift Tube Linac (DTL) was proposed to be developed for the multi-GeV proton accelerators to be built in future. This linac can be used as an injector for high energy machines. This paper describes the design of the 1st tank of the 20 MeV DTL operating at a frequency of 202 MHz. The results of the beam dynamics and rf aspects of the design are presented. Few applications of the beam directly available from the linac are also discussed. |
