Abstract: Solution technique is developed for the measurement of linear and mass attenuation coefficients of salts for gamma-rays and from them elemental attenuation coefficients are estimated. Improved mixture rule (Radiat Phys & chem, 53 (1998) 593), is employed for the measurement for salts containing carbonates, sulphates and chlorides etc. for various Gamma energies Mass attenuation coefficients for many elements are estimated. Their results show excellent agreement with theory.
