Abstract: The structural model must be designed, loaded and interpreted according to a set of similitude requirements that relates the mode (scaled down) to the prototype (original) structure. These similitude requirements which are based upon the theory of modeling can be derived from the dimensional analysis. In the present study, an attempt has been made to develop a scaling law for predicting the response of structures. The developed similitude relations are validated with analytical and numerical methods.
