The forced Lorenz model introduced as a paradigmatic model for monsoon prediction is explored in greater detail. In particular, a study is made of the bifurcation structure of the forced Lorenz model as the forcing is varied. Shift in the probability distribution function between the two branches of the Lorenz attractor as a function of the forcing is also studied.en_US
