The vibrational frequency spectra of the random one-dimensional binary alloys AcB1-c have been accurately predicted by statistical theory of small clusters embedded in an effective medium (defect lattice potential). This is superior to the embedded cluster theory of one-dimensional linear chain of Myles and Dow1 [Phys Rev, B19(1979) 4939]. The local environment effect has been approximated by modifying CPA Green's function. Certain special and important cluster is treated as single defect embedded in the medium. The results are in excellent agreement with the exact numerical calculations.en_US
