The two series of mono azo dyes have been prepared from 2-amino-5,10-dihydro-10-hyd roxy-5-methylphenophosphazine 10-oxide and its 5-methyl analogue by diazotizing and coupling with different coupling components, respectively. The dyes obtained were applied to cotton under acidic condition and the washing fastness properties were evaluated. The dyeings were found to be covalently bonded to cotton when tested with boiling dimethylformamide.en_US
