| Abstract: | A comparative study of the Pteridophytic flora of Tamia and Patalkot areas of Madhya Pradesh (India) is presented. It is pointed out that 30 species of Fern and Fern-allies were enumerated by Vasudeva and Bir in 1987, but in the present survey, only 25 species could be located. Thus, 5 species have become extinct. It is pointed out that several other taxa arealso at the verge of extinction. Some possible factors for their extinction are pointed out and some conservational strategies are suggested. |
