Abstract: There are innumerable plants available in the nature, which continuously diffuse aroma in the environment. These plants are known as aromatic plants. We feel this aroma due to the presence of essential oil, which is found in these plants. These volatile oils are called essential oils. Scientific reason of the perceptions of aroma is complex chemical reactions in lembic system present in the brain. Lembic system controls memory and emotions. It shows that there is a special effect of essential oils on our physiological activities.
