| Abstract: | Bibliometric study of the citations in 27 doctoral dissertations in mathematics submitted at the Burdwan University (West Bengal) from 1981 to 1990, and also of the references in the published articles cited in these theses was conducted using a database management software package (dBase lll+). The bibliographic forms of literature used, ranked list of journals in pure mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics, normalized ranking of journals with corrected citation number according to Sengupta's formula and correlation study between two lists found out by the use of the software developed are presented. The programme appended with this paper may be used for similar such studies. |
