Analysis of 1215 references cited in the review articles of Archaeological Anthropology published in Annual Review of Anthropology during the years 1980-82 reveals that most of the Archaeological Anthropology literature (57.78%) is published in the form of books and the remaining in other bibliographic forms. It also reveals that single author citations are more compared to two-author, three-author and more than-three-author citations. A ranked list of cited journals indicates that the literature in the field of Archaeological Anthropology has been scattered in 82 periodicals. However, most of the research (52.18%) is published in seven periodicals. The periodical American Antiquity gets first rank for publishing most of the research work.en_US
