dc.description.abstractA sample of 17 college libraries of University of Delhi was used to critically examine various aspects of reader delinquency. A delinquent, in this context bas been defined and various forms of delinquency are recognized. Survey research method was used for data collection. Data analysis show that.38% of the collection is lost annually and of the rest 24.05% is mutilated and 17.5% is misplaced. When reader delinquency occurs in a library, three parties are involved - the library, the delinquent reader and the other group of readers. Concludes with measures to check delinquency and a model which shows the extent of the loss.en_US
