The conventional approaches of classifying documents on Literature according to DDC showed certain drawbacks while retrieving all the concepts dealt in the document to scholars of the discipline. This was due to certain non-conventional approaches of the scholars as well as publishers. An analysis into their approaches was made and modifications to the DDC notation were suggested keeping the order of the notation as far as practicable intact. The users' reactions to the new procedures showed encouraging results.en_US
