dc.description.abstractDescribes the importance of periodical literature for research workers and relates about their acquisition by the special libraries in India by different methods. Discusses the acquisition procedures through State Trading Corporation, a Government agency, and the reaction of the librarians on this. Points out the various difficulties such as untimely action on indents, late payments & no action for missing issue of journals faced by the libraries in the acquisition of periodicals through this agency. Suggests for the improvement of services of this agency.en_US
