Abstract: New features viz., subject headings in the table of contents, keywords following the abstracts. classification number for each paper and the 'clip-out' abstracts section which are of recent origin in primary scientific and technical periodicals of India have been highlighted and their usefulness in dissemination of literature has been emphasized. The need for introduction of these features in other Indian periodicals is stressed.
