CFTRI documentation services : A user survey

Abstract

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family:" times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" roman";="" mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="" lang="EN-US">A user survey was conducted to evaluate the three Documentation services of CFTRI, namely, Library Bulletin Documentation List and Food Technology Abstracts. Results have shown that these publications were being used by <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">the majority <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold">of users for current awareness <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold">purposes. There was a general preference for abstracts among the users <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">over bare titles. The internal structure, such as. Classification, indexing, etc., index terms and informativeness of abstracts were stated to be helpful. Improvements were suggested in external format by way of printing better binding etc. All the users desired to receive <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">these services on a continual basis and about 45.6% of users outside CFTRI expressed their willingness to pay a <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">subscription charge for these services.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span>
